The inaugural winner of the Roux scholarship and an unassuming man, who carved a legacy into the British culinary scene with studious and fastidious cooking.

Taking his Michelin star from Glasgow to Gleneagles and winning his second.. he became the only Scottish chef holding 2 Michelin stars.

He sadly died in January 2019 from a brain tumour.

He was an inspiration and his legacy can be felt throughout Scottish kitchens today.
